Finishing the race!

It's the last week of school and it's already flying by. There is sooooo much to do and there is one thing I'm not looking forward to....is saying goodbye. I hate goodbyes, but I do them anyway. I've been trying my best to keep myself together as I am packing my classroom and seeing my kids leaving my classroom for one last time.
Today, I saw many students say goodbye and I was given thank you cards. Those mean so much to me. It's a little encouragement to keep going and finish this assignment God has given me. During the day, one of my parents bought us lunch from Martinez restaurant in Mesquite. My word, WHAT A BLESSING THAT WAS!!! Furthermore, after school one of my students learned two Spanish songs from Josh Groban and sang them to me. It was for extra credit, gotta love it! She has such a phenomenal voice. Besides that, she burned ALL the Josh Groban CDs for me! Of course, I SCREAMED like a little girl, LOL! What a treat and what a sweet surprise to end the day! I'll be pretty busy this week with wrapping things up at work and packing up and ending the week at Reunion Arena for graduation...gotta see my babies off!
I hope this blog finds ya'll well!
Blessings on ya'll!

Counting down....

My goodness! I have never been so busy in my entire life, then again I always say that at this time of year. But, there's so much to do because I have to pack up my things in my classroom and move them out. I am still looking for a job and I am narrowing things down with my choice of school to attend this fall.
So far this month:
I administered the TAKS for the last time.
I celebrated Mimi's 3rd birthday!
I celebrated my mother's birthday and mother's day.
We had the 1st annual Champions Walk for Christ Youth Walk-a-thon in Rockwall.
I spent a weekend in Paris, TX for the JROTC Camp.
I cheered Kristi and Mark to win the DWTS competition!
We had the Spanish Club end-of-the-year party and got a cake...:D
I applied for many jobs.
I looked into 3 areas of study.
I have been coming to peace with stepping down as a teacher.
I am enjoying a 4 day weekend...sadly my allergies decided to kick in at the same time....aaargh!!!! :-(
I am looking forward to a new beginning....it's all in His hands!
So, that's all I been doing this past month. I will try my best to update ya'll more consistently!
I hope this blog finds you all well!
Blessings on ya'll and lot's of love,
Laura :D

LOL!

Sorry, it's been a while since I last posted, again. Life's been really hectic and stressful with seeking a job and finishing my school year strong. I still haven't taken my GRE, it doesn't seem to fit in my budget lately, lol....either that or I'm procrastinating. I got glasses for computer use and extensive reading. It's helped a lot with my headaches and they are pretty cool. I'd like to thank my mom for picking them out. She has great taste!
Lately, I've been walking alot since the weather improved. I absolutely love it! I get to walk every afternoon in a beautiful park near my place. It's so peaceful and the fresh air is great! Other than that, all is well! Hope everyone is doing great!

Love,
Laura :D

p.s. This vid is hilarious! I'd like to see Mimi pull that trick, LOL!

Spring Break and other stuff!

Well, it's Spring Break, yippeeee! I am enjoying some rest as well as catching up on some needed stuff!
I did some much needed Spring cleaning! But, my vacuum broke down on me...so there's another thing to add on my list. Other than that, I'm studying for the GRE, yay me! It's the only requirement I have to fulfill for my application.
Also, since the end of Feb up until now, I've lost 8 lbs! woo-hoo! I'm so happy. I'm hoping to lose 22 more lbs by June. We'll see what happens! I've been feeling great and rarely tired. So, things are good and I am happy!

Have a great day!

God, I want to dream again!

Here's a song by Fireflight called "Unbreakable". It is a great song and it inspires me very much especially with all the new changes! It also ROCKS out!!! :)

I Still Can't Believe It!

Well, it's been a while, but alot has happened since then. After contemplating and weighing all the pros and cons, finances and so on....I resigned from my position as a teacher. I felt it was the right thing to do.
Just as I was becoming comfortable with my role as a teacher, I felt the gentle nudge of God that said to let go. I knew it was the right decision. My purpose had been fulfilled or is being fulfilled. It really broke my heart because teaching has been a big part of my life. I was comfortable with my role as one. But, I know God wants me to keep going, to move on....perhaps grad school, or another career. I'm following the ideas that I thought through carefully to see what doors open up.
At this point, I have taken a step out in faith. I believe God has something great in store for me. I'm excited, but at the same time I'm saying to myself, "Are you insane?!!! You are leaving a good, stable, secure job!!! What's wrong with you, woman?!!" I know I'm going to be ok, but most importantly I'll be happy because it's God's plan for my life.
I guess it's the right time to start dreaming big! :)
Love ya'll,
Laura :)

What a Whirlwind!

Sorry, it's been a while since I last posted. Work has been keeping me busy along with other things. The last three weeks have been a rollercoaster.
I decided to withdraw from my graduate program because I wasn't getting anything from it. I came to realize what I would do with it after I graduated. First, I do not want to be a principal or a department head. It's not in my heart's desires. With all this said, it is time to step out of my comfort zone.
So, here I am contemplating on a new beginning, a fresh start to life. Surely, it is going to take a giant leap of faith. It's one I am willing to take. It makes me nervous, but it's the good kind. heehee. I believe God is about to make great changes in my life. Oh boy, this is so cool....:D
I'll keep ya'll updated to what happens.

Love ya'll!
